Rite Aid has initiated a voluntary recall of approximately 560 16 oz. pints of Mint ‘n Chip ice cream distributed under the Thrifty brand name. These pints contain pistachio ice cream with pistachios; however, the ice cream was inadvertently placed in containers labeled as being Mint ‘n Chip. People who are allergic to nuts, including pistachios, may run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
