Morningstar Farms Issues Allergy Alert and Voluntary, Precautionary Recall of Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers in The U.S. Due to Undeclared Peanut Allergen

MorningStar Farms is issuing a voluntary and precautionary
recall of certain code dates of Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers because they may contain undeclared peanut. MorningStar Farms was notified by a third party supplier that one of the spice ingredients used in Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers may inadvertently contain peanut, an allergen that is not declared on the products’ ingredient statements.

Today, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the results of findings from additional tests performed on samples collected from Bidart Bros. apple processing plant. Test results confirm two strains of Listeria monocytogenes were found at the apple processing facility and are believed to be the same strains associated with the outbreak.

H-E-B has issued a voluntary and precautionary recall for H-E-B Single Serving Tortilla Soup and H-E-B Single Serving Poblano Corn Chowder due to undeclared peanut allergens in seasoning provided by Southern Style Spices. There have been no reported illnesses related to this precautionary recall.
